Navistar and the UAW held its most recent face-to-face meeting on November 6, when the company submitted proposals that address all open issues. Navistar’s comprehensive proposals support lean operating principles while providing a competitive wage and benefit package for employees.
“We all want to bring the bargaining process to an agreeable resolution,” said Barry Morris, director of labor relations, Navistar. “Our goal remains to achieve a competitive contract as quickly as possible.”
Navistar and the UAW continue to operate under a temporary contract extension as they enter their fourteenth week of negotiations. The previous labor agreement expired on October 1, 2014.
“We recognize that operating under these conditions is stressful,” said Morris. “It’s in the best interest of everyone – our employees, their communities, and our operations – to remove the uncertainty by getting a new contract in place as soon as we can.”
